September is a month of change. Hanoi starts to warm up, and cooler conditions start to set in, making Sapa and other northern mountain areas more and more attractive.
Central Vietnam, though, begins to enter a wetter time, so check the specific destination before booking a beach-intensive itinerary.
October is one of the more beautiful months for exploring northern Vietnam. Hanoi is cooler, while Sapa is particularly rewarding in the rice harvest season.
